In the year 2020, the new “Call of Duty” game is going to arrive on the cusp of a new generation of consoles. The name of this new game is going to be “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” but this is not going to segment the title’s player base. During this week only, Multiplayer Reveal event, Activision made a confirmation that the Black ops cold war in Call of Duty is soon going to support cross-progression and cross-play.

Later on, the Activision blog also shared a few details on how it is going to work. According to the blog, Black Ops Cold War progression is going to be tied to the Activision accounts of players, so that they can freely choose down between the two platforms and have their progress carry over whenever they go around. This is going to apply to the next-gen consoles when the players can for instant begin the gameplay on PS4 and then suddenly move to the PS5 version. Therefore, they can easily move down with the full progress intact when that console will launch this year.

Although Black Ops Cold War will supplant last year Modern Warfare but will still share some important content and progression with Warzone. Both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone are going to have an interlink battle pass and store. So, that all the content that is there unlocked in Black Ops Cold War’s battle pass will carry over to Warzone and vice versa. However, there is no revelation yet that when will next-gen version of the game will be available.
